  • Caverns of Mimas, PC FAQ:
  • What are the requirements to run the game?

    The short version:
The game works just fine on a budget level netbook from 2008.
To play the game with high-level graphics requires a relatively
    modern gaming graphics card

    More detailed version:
The game requires a Shader Model 2.0 capable graphics card.
To run the game using the prettiest graphics mode requires a Shader Model
3.0 capable card and rasterization abilities equivalent to an
Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS or better.

    40 Megabytes of harddrive space
It works fine on a 1.6GHz Intel AtomN270
100MBs of internal memory is what the game needs

Why does the installer say "Setup has failed to detect a graphics card
with sufficient hardware shader support in the system."?

The installer tries to detect if the computer can run the game.
If your computer has less than Shader Model 2.0 support, it won't be
able to run. There is one exception,  if your computer has some type
of software shaders support (for at least 2.0 shaders), the game will
work just fine, but the installer won't detect it correctly.
    How big is the game?

Well, there are 25 leveles, and it takes me 30 minutes to complete the game.
BUT,  as far as I know, none of the beta testers ever managed to finish the
    game.
  • Why does both windows and my browser warn me about the
    CavernsOfMimas.msi file?

This is just windows being silly. The game isn't certified.
    Just ignore those warnings.

    Caverns of Mimas, Android FAQ:

Will CM run on my android device?

The Android version of Caverns of Mimas uses OpenGL ES 1.1
allowing it to run on a large variety of devices including older devices
such as the Samsung Galaxy S. The game has been tested on Android 2
and 4 series devices and emulated version 3 devices without any known
    issues.

  • Caverns of Mimas, Mac OS X FAQ:

    What are the base requirements?

Caverns of Mimas requires a Mac capable of running OS X 10.7. For instance, a 2 year old MacBook pro or a Mac mini will work just fine.
Why is the game so slow/ugly in 3D mode?

Caverns of Mimas in 3D mode requires a high-end graphics card that is capable of rasterizing at a decent framerate due to heavy use of pixel shaders.
The game also attempts to adjust the graphics quality based on your computers capabilities, so you might find that the 3D mode won't allow you to see any shadows and the graphics might look unusually blurry. This just means that there's not enough processing power and you will have to run the game in 2D mode.

    iPhone FAQ:

So what phones will this work on?

Caverns of Mimas runs smoothly on an iPhone..
  • Don't you mean iOS FAQ, not "iPhone FAQ"?

No, Caverns of Mimas was not designed to work on iPads or any other device other than iPhones, it might work, but it was not intended for other platforms.
  • Navigation Knockout, PC FAQ:

What are the requirements to run the game?

The game requires a relatively modern PC that supports at least
    OpenGL 2.1 and GLSL 1.2.
The game also uses "occlusion queries" which seems to rule out some
GPUs that claim to support OpenGL 2.1 but really do not...

    How big is the game?

Seven levels, that's it. The difficulty is in completing all seven
    without losing all your ships.

Why does both Windows and my browser warn me about downloading
    and starting CM-NavigationKnockout.exe?

This is just windows being silly.
The game isn't signed with a certificate.
    Just ignore the message.

    Navigation Knockout, MAC FAQ:

What are the requirements to run the game?

The game requires a 64-bit apple computer running at least OS X 10.7.
If your computer lives up to those two requirements, it should also
already support OpenGL 2.1 and GLSL 1.2, which the game requires.
